Technical Notes
  • This is a 4-wire heated oxygen sensor, manufactured to General Motors' original equipment standards. It is a GM-recommended replacement for your vehicle's original components.
  • The sensor measures the proportion of oxygen in exhaust gases. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) uses this input to adjust the air/fuel ratio to near the optimal value of 14.7:1. At this ratio, engine performance, emissions, and fuel economy are all optimized.
  • The built-in heating element brings the ceramic sensing tip up to operating temperature quickly after a cold start, enabling the PCM to enter closed-loop fuel control sooner.
  • This sensor is a direct-fit component featuring a GM-specific flat male 4-pin connector and pre-terminated wiring, eliminating the need for cutting or splicing during installation.
  • As an upstream (pre-catalyst) sensor, it is installed before the catalytic converter (Position 2 / POSN 2) and serves as the primary regulating probe for air-fuel mixture control.
  • GM Genuine Parts are the true OE parts installed during the production of or validated by General Motors for GM vehicles. They are designed, engineered, and tested to rigorous standards.
Specification data compiled from Summit Racing, CARiD, and TascaParts catalogues.
Cross-Reference & Interchange Numbers
This Lambda Sensor is a genuine GM / ACDelco Original Equipment component. The following OE numbers are directly interchangeable. Always verify physical fitment (connector shape, cable length and thread size) with your original part before purchasing.
Manufacturer / Brand OE Part Number(s)
GENERAL MOTORS 19178934
ACDelco AFS93
CHEVROLET 19178934
GMC 19178934
Superseded Part 25312191
Cross-Reference Notes
  • The primary OE number is 19178934, with AFS93 being the ACDelco aftermarket reference for the same physical sensor.
  • This part supersedes the earlier GM part number 25312191.
  • For downstream (post-catalyst) applications on the same vehicles, the equivalent GM part number is 19178116.
  • Always physically compare your old sensor's connector shape (flat, male), pin count (4), cable length (approx. 237.5 mm), and thread size (M18 * 1.5) before purchasing.
Cross-reference data compiled from CARiD, Spareto, and GMPartsGiant catalogues.
Vehicle Compatibility & Fitment Guide
This Lambda Sensor is an original equipment component for vehicles manufactured under the General Motors (GM) group, including Chevrolet and GMC. Based on extensive cross-reference data from multiple aftermarket catalogues, the sensor is used as an upstream (pre-catalyst / front / Position 2) oxygen sensor on a wide range of V6 and V8 petrol engines.
⚠️ Important Position Note: This is an upstream (pre-catalyst / front) oxygen sensor — installed before the catalytic converter (Position 2). Do not use it in the downstream (post-catalyst) position unless your vehicle's original sensor was located there. Upstream and downstream O₂ sensors are not interchangeable on most vehicles. The downstream sensor for these vehicles uses part number 19178116.
